James at the Mill, home of Chef Miles James, is an award-winning full-service restaurant offering “Ozark Plateau Cuisine tm” in a breath-taking setting. Designed by architect James Lambeth and Chef Miles James, the restaurant is the result of a uniquely prolific relationship between two internationally recognized masters of the architectural and culinary arts.
After opening James at the Mill in 1994, the chef and architect team went on to publish two remarkable cookbooks. The first, Cuisine of the Creative, garnered a James Beard nomination for Best Cookbook of the Year. This beautifully illustrated book showcases the team's favorite architects, photographers, artists and chefs with photographs taken of each artist's medium paired with his or her favorite dish. The second publication, A Tuscan Seduction: A Romantic Cook Book for Two features rustic Italian cuisine from the hillsides of Tuscany. An exquisite photographic essay with elegant menus showcases the regions and seasons of Tuscany.
